Steady Bike Power Drives a Well-Balanced Olympic Finish Ryan Casey completed the Olympic-distance course in 2:46:29, finishing 258th overall out of 1,987 participants and 7th in the Non-Competitive division. His swim covered 0.86 miles in 21:33, followed by a 5:48 transition into the bike leg. On the bike, Casey covered roughly 24.4 miles in 1:22:51, averaging close to 17.7 mph a strong, consistent effort that moved him up through the field, peaking at 271st overall mid-ride. After a brisk 2:49 T2, Casey settled into a steady run, covering the closing 10K in 53:31. His per-mile pace held admirably consistent between 8:13 and 8:51, showing strong endurance management late in the race. Overall, his bike segment stood out as the highlight of the day, and his ability to maintain a stable run pace after a hard ride reflects solid aerobic conditioning. Continuing to build swim speed could help him climb even further overall next time.
