Steady Effort, Room to Sharpen the Transitions Landon Coleman completed the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon in 3:44:04, moving through the Snake River swim in 27:19 before settling into a bike leg that averaged roughly 13.2 mph over the 23-mile course. He closed with a run split of 1:18:55, holding a pace near 12:43 per mile across the closing 6.2 miles. This finish came in about 12 minutes slower than his 2024 Spudman result of 3:31:45, when he covered the same distance at a stronger overall clip. The bike and run splits this year trailed his 2024 pace, suggesting his current fitness on the course wasn't quite matched to that previous effort. Transition times of 6:51 and 5:09 also offer a clear area to tighten up trimming even a minute or two there could meaningfully close the gap toward his prior result. Overall, a solid finish with clear markers for where the next gains can come from.
