A Strong Rebound Powered by a Standout Swim Michael Wangemann closed out this year's Olympic Triathlon in 2:48:26, a solid bounce-back after a tougher 3:09:24 outing in 2025, though just off his personal bests from 2023 (2:42:19) and 2024 (2:41:39). He finished 289th overall out of 1,987 and 8th in the 40+ Clydesdale division, showing he's still competitive against a deep field. The swim was a clear highlight, with Michael exiting the water 110th overall and 3rd in his divisionan excellent start to the day. His bike leg was equally impressive, averaging roughly 18.2 mph and holding a top-50 position through the first third of the ride before settling into the field. The run showed a steady but gradually slowing pace, drifting from the 10:20s into the 12:00s per mile late in the race. Tightening up that late-run pacing could help him close the gap to his 20232024 form.
