Strong Bike Leg Fuels a Big Jump in the Standings Ethan McKee capped off the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon in 2:41:13, good for 187th overall and an impressive 4th place finish in the 1-19 Solo Male divisionup from 10th a year ago. The bike leg was the standout segment, where Ethan averaged roughly 18.3 mph, moving him up from 730th to 425th overall by T2. That surge built a solid cushion heading into the run, where he held onto a top-10 divisional position for most of the course. The run did show some fade over the back half, with mile splits climbing from the 6:20s early on to the 8:30s by mile 30. Given the strength of his bike leg, working on run pacingperhaps starting slightly more conservative off the bikecould help him sustain that speed deeper into the run and convert his cycling gains into an even stronger finish next season.
