Strong Bike Leg Powers a Solid Olympic-Distance Debut Stepping up from last year's Sprint race to the full Olympic distance, Sara Pierson turned in a well-rounded performance at Spudman. Her bike leg was the standout segment, covering the course at roughly 14.4 mph and moving her up through the fieldshe climbed from 1447th after the swim to 906th by the midpoint of the bike course. That strength on two wheels built a solid foundation heading into the run. The swim and run were steady, with the run settling into a consistent rhythm through the back half of the course. Finishing in 3:47:30, Sara placed 44th in her division. Building on her 2025 Spudman Sprint finish, this Olympic finish marks a clear step up in distance and endurance. Continued focus on run pacing off the bike could help her close the gap even further in future Olympic-distance events.
