Strong Swim and Smart Pacing Drive a Major Jump in the Standings Kendell Marquiss delivered a well-rounded performance at this year's Spudman Olympic Triathlon, finishing 136th overall out of 1,987 athletes, 118th among men, and 19th in the competitive 35-39 age group. The swim stood out as a real strength, with Kendell exiting the water 94th overall and 9th in his division, showing solid open-water speed. Transitions were crisp as well, helping maintain momentum into the bike and run legs. On the bike, Kendell averaged a strong 19.2 mph, and the run settled into a steady rhythm in the low 9:30s per mile. Compared to the 2024 Spudman Olympic race, this result marks a significant leap forward despite a nearly identical finish time, Kendell climbed from 313th to 136th overall, 266th to 118th among men, and 35th to 19th in his division. That kind of placement improvement on a similar course points to sharper overall race execution this time around.
