Race Recap powered by Laurel Intelligence

Date: July 25, 2026 Participant: Casey Palmer #5227 Race: 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon Event: Olympic Triathlon Weather: Hot, but otherwise a great day for a triathlon.

Fast Start, Strong Bike, Late-Race Fade Casey turned in a swift swim, exiting the Snake River in the top half of his field, then moved through T1 in just over three minutes to hit the bike course quickly. His cycling was the highlight of the day a mid-ride stretch covering over 12 miles was ridden at nearly 20 mph, propelling him into 13th place in his division at that point and 144th overall, a clear sign of strong bike fitness. The run told a different story. Pace slowed steadily over the final miles, with the last stretches dropping into the 1517 minute-per-mile range, and Casey settled into 73rd in his division by the finish. This overall time was slower than his previous three Spudman finishes (20222024), suggesting that building run durability off the bike could be a key focus for closing the gap between his strong cycling split and his finishing results.
