Strong Bike Split Highlights a Steady Olympic Finish Eric Schofield completed the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon in 4:13:23. He came out of the Snake River in 33:16, then delivered the standout segment of his day on the bike, covering the course in 1:50:23 an average of roughly 13.3 mph. That effort was strong enough to move him from 1,431st overall after the swim into the 900s at multiple points on the ride, a jump of several hundred places. The run proved to be the tougher half of the day, with his pace settling into the 15-17 minute per mile range over the closing miles, contributing to a 1:39:54 run split. Given the strength shown on the bike, incorporating more run-specific training, particularly for maintaining pace late in a race, could help Eric translate that bike fitness into a stronger finish next time out.
