Strong Bike Split Powers Solid Olympic-Distance Finish David Blaylock completed the Olympic Triathlon in 3:18:05, finishing 844th overall out of 1,987 participants and 89th in the 30-34 Male division. His swim came in at 27:27, followed by a 6:02 T1 transition. The bike leg was a highlight of his race, covering the course at an average speed of roughly 16 mph, with a particularly strong mid-ride stretch where he clocked splits as fast as 3:15/mile pace, moving him up into the top 300 overall at that point in the race. After a brisk 2:54 T2, David closed out with a 1:10:29 run, averaging around 11:20 per mile over the final 6.2 miles. While his run pace settled a bit after the strong bike effort, the overall performance reflects a well-balanced race, with the bike segment standing out as his strongest asset. Building some run speed off the bike could help him consolidate the gains made on two wheels in future races.
