Race Recap powered by Laurel Intelligence

Date: July 25, 2026 Participant: Taylor Harper #4111 Race: 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon Event: Olympic Triathlon Weather: Hot, but otherwise a great day for a triathlon.

Consistent Splits Anchor a Well-Rounded Olympic Finish Taylor Harper turned in a balanced performance at this year's Olympic-distance race, highlighted by a strong swim leg and a bike split that averaged roughly 18.3 mph over the course. The run leg showed solid pacing throughout, holding around 8:50 per mile deep into the back half of the race, a sign of good endurance management. T2 was crisp at just over two and a half minutes, reflecting sharp transition execution on the back end. Compared to his 2024 Spudman result, this year's overall time was about 18 minutes slower, with T1 standing out as an area to tighten up at 6:33, it was noticeably longer than the rest of his transitions. Still, Harper's bike and run legs remained competitive, landing him 34th in the 35-39 age group. Refining that first transition could be the clearest path to closing the gap with his previous performance.
