A Strong Ride Undone by a Fading Run Eli Davids, racing in his hometown of Burley, finished the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon in 3:01:01, placing 511th overall and 31st in the tough 19-24 age group. This result trails his previous two showings on this course 2:46:37 in 2024 and 2:46:05 in 2025 marking his slowest Spudman finish to date. The bike was clearly his strength this year, averaging roughly 16.5 mph over the course. He surged mid-ride, climbing to 12th in his division and 149th overall during one stretch, showing real power on the road. However, that momentum didnt carry into the run, where his pace steadily slipped from a solid 9:38 opening mile to an 11:09 pace late in the race. Sharpening run endurance to match his cycling strength could be the key to reclaiming his faster Spudman times.
