Bike Strength Carries a Podium-Contending Age-Group Finish Toby Miller closed out the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon in 2:25:45, good for 3rd in the competitive 50-54 age group and 50th overall among 1,987 finishers. His 19:57 swim and 1:05:24 bike leg (roughly 22.4 mph) were clear strengths, holding him inside the top 30-45 in his gender for both disciplines. Transitions were sharp too, with a 2:21 T1 and 1:53 T2 keeping momentum through the race. The 56:13 run, averaging about 9:03/mile, was where he lost the most ground relative to his swim and bike positioning, slipping to 49th in his gender by the finish. Compared to his 2022 (2:03:15, 9th overall) and 2023 (2:06:28, 21st overall) Spudman results, this year's overall time was noticeably slower, suggesting the run leg could be a focal point for improvement in future training blocks to match the pace of his bike and swim performances.
