Fast Swim and Bike Give Way to a Fading Run Dallen opened his race with a strong swim, exiting the Snake River in 55th overall and 5th in his division, a clear strength to build on. He carried that momentum onto the bike, holding right around 20 mph for the 24-mile ride and climbing into the top 60 overall by the dismount, a smooth and efficient transition-to-transition effort with quick T1 and T2 splits. The run told a different story. Early miles were sharp, but the pace steadily slipped in the back half, and his overall position dropped from the 30s into the 270s by the finish. This is a shift from his 2023 and 2024 Spudman results, where he finished inside the top 25 overall with far quicker overall times. The swim and bike form are clearly still there the focus now should be on finding a way to hold run pace deeper into the back half of the race.
