Consistent Podium Contender Delivers Another Strong Multisport Showing Russell backed up two years of top finishes with another solid podium performance, taking 3rd in the competitive 40-49 Sprint Male division and cracking the top 25 overall out of 570 athletes. His bike leg was a highlight, holding an 18.9 mph pace and briefly claiming the overall division lead during the middle milesa clear sign of strong power on two wheels. Transitions were crisp as well, particularly a swift T1 that kept him well-positioned heading onto the bike course. Compared to his previous two Spudman sprint outings (2024 and 2025), this year's overall time was a bit slower, and his division placement dipped from 2nd to 3rd. The run split, while solid, showed room to close the gap on the top two in his age group. With his bike strength clearly established, sharpening the run could be the key to reclaiming that podium spot in future editions.
