Solid Swim Effort Fades Into a Tough Run Finish Matt Moody returned to Spudman's Olympic distance and turned in a swim leg that ranked 95th overall and 82nd among men a clear highlight of his day. He transitioned quickly into a bike leg that averaged just under 20 mph, holding a steady rhythm through the course with only minor pace variation across the ride. His splits show a strong, near-top-50 position on the bike before heading into T2. The run proved more challenging, with pace steadily climbing from the low 9-minute range early on to over 11 minutes per mile by the final miles, dropping him from 72nd to 203rd overall by the finish. He still secured 2nd in the U40 Clydesdale division, matching his podium result from 2025, though his overall time slipped about 12 minutes compared to last year. Building run durability off the bike could help him close the gap on his 2025 finish time.
