Strong Bike Split Highlights a Tougher Run Day Joseph completed the Olympic-distance race in 3:03:55, finishing 587th overall out of 1,987 athletes. His swim came in at 23:32, followed by a brisk transition into a bike leg that averaged nearly 17 mph a clear strength in this race, moving him up to 344th place at the first bike checkpoint. The run proved more challenging, with pacing gradually slowing from a 10:06 opening mile to an 11:28 mile late in the leg, ultimately settling into an 11:4711:23 pace through the final stretch. Compared to his 2024 (2:47:29) and 2025 (2:51:45) Spudman finishes, this year's time was slower, driven mainly by the run split. Building run endurance and maintaining pace consistency off the bike could help him recapture the sharper overall times seen in his previous two Spudman performances.
