A Strong Bike Surge and Powerful Finishing Kick Highlight a Determined Olympic Effort Racing the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon, Lilianna Lopez showed real range across the bike course. After a modest start near 11.5 mph, she ramped up dramatically through the middle miles, hammering a 14-mile stretch at roughly 16.6 mph before easing back slightly to the dismount. That mid-ride surge was the clear highlight of her day, showing strong power once she found her rhythm. The run settled into a steady 11:2312:45 min/mile groove for most of the course, capped by an impressive final sprintcovering the last tenth of a mile at a 6:09 pace. Compared to her 2025 Spudman result (2:47:39), this year's 3:32:44 finish came in slower across the board, suggesting an off day rather than a lack of fitness. Building a quicker bike start to match her closing speed could help her recapture last year's overall pace.
