Powerful Bike Splits Anchor a Well-Rounded Olympic Debut Robert opened with a strong 0.86-mile swim, finishing top 6% of the field before a crisp 3:23 T1 transition. The bike leg was the standout, with mid-race splits hitting paces as fast as 2:422:45 min/mile translating to speeds north of 21 mph helping him move into the top 40 overall at points during the 25.36-mile ride. The run told a story of fading pace, opening with a solid 7:57 mile before settling into the 8:559:05 range through the middle miles. A strong final kick, dropping to a 3:29 pace over the last tenth, capped off the 31.65-mile day in 2:30:12, good for 69th overall and 16th among Elite Men. With such a fast bike leg, dialing in run pacing consistency could unlock an even stronger overall result.
