Bike Strength Powers Near-Podium Age-Group Run Mark Evans crossed the finish in 3:58:51, highlighted by a strong 1:43:43 bike split that averaged roughly 14.1 mph and pushed him as high as 2nd in his 70+ age group mid-ride. A 27:24 swim and steady 1:34:10 run rounded out the effort, landing him 4th in the 70+ Solo Male divisionjust off the podium. T1 came in at 8:26, noticeably longer than his T2 of 5:10, suggesting a spot where a few seconds could be trimmed next time. Compared to his last three Spudman finishes3:31:11 in 2022, 3:37:46 in 2024, and 3:42:57 in 2025this year's time reflects the natural shift into a new age bracket rather than a drop in effort. Notably, his division placement improved from 18th in the 65+ group last year to 4th now in the 70+ field, showing strong continued competitiveness as he moves up in age category.
