A Mid-Race Bike Surge Powers a Determined Olympic Finish Jacob opened with a steady 28:43 swim before a brisk 4:45 transition onto the bike. The ride became the highlight of his day: over one stretch he climbed from 1,091st to 794th overall while holding an average speed near 14.5 mph across the 24.4-mile course, showing real strength on the rolling terrain. That momentum cooled slightly in the closing bike miles, but he still logged a solid 1:41:13 split. On the run, Jacob found another gear mid-course, jumping from 71st to 25th in his 25-29 division during one stretch before settling into a steadier pace for the remainder. He crossed the finish in 3:41:00, a race marked by a strong cycling push and a spirited surge on foot that showcased his ability to fight for position throughout.
