A Dramatic Leap Forward in Speed and Strength Kay Peters turned in a standout performance at the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon, slashing over 36 minutes off her 2022 finish time and climbing from 8th to 6th in her Athena division. Her bike leg was the highlight of the day averaging roughly 26 mph, a blazing pace that vaulted her into the top 100 among all female competitors on that segment. The swim and transition phases showed solid, steady execution, setting up her strong bike effort. While the run leg was slower than her cycling pace, it still contributed to an overall performance that outpaced her previous Spudman finish by a wide margin. Kay's continued participation in this event highlights a clear trend of improvement, particularly in bike strength, and offers a great foundation to build even more run speed in future races.
