Steady Effort Marked by a Long Transition and a Strong Bike Leg Barbara Tidwell completed the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon in 4:37:19, finishing 443rd among 987 female participants. Her swim came in at 33:25, followed by a notably long T1 of 22:34 that impacted her overall time. On the bike, she covered the course in 2:13:33, averaging roughly 11 mph, before closing out with a 1:17:47 run split, working out to about 12:32 per mile. Compared to her 2022 Spudman finish of 4:11:25, this race came in about 26 minutes slower overall, with her elapsed pace shifting from 7:56 to 8:45 per mile. The bike leg showed some strong stretches, particularly through the B5 and B6 segments where her splits picked up noticeably. Tightening up the T1 transition could be a good focus for shaving time in future races.
