Strong Swim Effort Anchors a Well-Rounded Olympic Finish Aaron turned in a strong swim leg, finishing 23rd in his 40-44 age group and covering the water portion in 21:28 a clear strength in this race. He carried solid momentum into the bike, averaging roughly 15 mph over the course, which put him among the top 40 in his division through several bike splits before settling into the back half of the ride. The run proved tougher, with pacing drifting past 10:45 per mile in the closing miles, ultimately placing 62nd in his age group. Compared to his 2024 Spudman result, this year's overall time was about 26 minutes slower, driven mainly by the run split. Sharpening run fitness off the bike could help him recapture the strong overall positioning he's shown in prior swim and bike efforts.
