Strong Bike Surge Anchors a Solid Olympic-Distance Finish Michael Hill completed the Olympic-distance event in 3:18:11, finishing 846th overall among 1,987 finishers, 666th in the mens field, and 67th in his division. He came out of the water having climbed from 1,147th to 475th place, a strong early signal that carried momentum into the bike. The bike was clearly his strongest discipline, averaging roughly 18 mph and briefly pushing him into the top 105 overall around the midpoint, with several segments dipping into the 3:023:43 min/mile pace range equivalent to nearly 20 mph bursts. Transitions were tidy, with T1 in 4:14 and T2 in 5:43. The run told a different story, starting at a 12:25 min/mile pace before settling into the mid-14:00s, which allowed the field to close back in and shaped his final overall placement.
