A Strong Bike Surge Highlights a Hard-Fought Finish Alyssa Maxwell completed the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon in 4:53:32, moving through the water in just under 31 minutes before settling into a bike leg that averaged just over 11 mph. Her ride included a standout surgea 4:13-per-mile segment that briefly pushed her into the top 500 overall and top 150 among women, a clear sign of strong power on that stretch of the course. The run proved to be the toughest part of the day, with pacing settling into the low 20-minute-per-mile range across the final miles. Compared to her 2025 Spudman finish of 4:03:40, this year's results suggest the run leg is the area to target most in training going forward. Building run fitness off the bike could help her recapture the pace and overall placement she achieved last season.
