Steady Pacing and a Powerful Bike Leg Highlight Olympic Debut Performance Alex Hurst turned in a well-rounded Olympic-distance performance, anchored by a strong bike leg where he averaged roughly 18.2 mph over the 24-mile course. That bike split proved to be his biggest strength, moving him up significantly in the overall standingsfrom 605th after the swim to 441st by the end of the ride, and as high as 309th at one point mid-bike. The run settled into a consistent rhythm, holding right around a 9:4010:00 per mile pace for most of the 10K, with a strong closing kick in the final stretch. Transitions were efficient, with T1 and T2 combined taking under nine minutes. Overall, Hurst crossed the line in 2:52:51, showing balanced execution across all three disciplines with the bike standing out as the clear highlight of the day.
