Swim Speed Sets the Tone for a Well-Paced Olympic Finish Amber Jones turned in a strong swim leg, splashing to a 99th-place finish among women and climbing into the top 11 in her 40-44 age group early on. That early momentum carried into a solid bike leg, where she averaged roughly 16 mph over the course, helping her hold a top-100 position in her division through the midpoint of the race. Transitions were tight and efficient, with T1 and T2 combined taking under nine minutes. On the run, Jones maintained a consistent effort, settling into a rhythm that kept her within striking distance of her earlier pack positions. She crossed the finish line in 3:09:53, placing 138th among 1987 total finishers in the women's field and 16th in her competitive age division a well-rounded performance across all three disciplines.
