Steady Pacing With a Strong Mid-Race Surge Juliet Evans put together a well-rounded Olympic-distance performance, finishing in 3:26:55 and placing 24th in her 40-44 age group. She opened with a strong swim, clocking 24:06 and landing in the top third of her division exiting the water. On the bike, she found her rhythm mid-course, pushing several segments under 4:00/mile pacefaster than 15 mphbefore settling into an overall bike average of just over 14 mph across the 24-plus mile ride. The run leg showed consistent effort, with Evans holding pace in the 10:00-11:30/mile range through the final miles, closing out with a strong final push at sub-5:00/mile in the last stretch to the finish line. Her transitions were efficient, particularly T2 at just 3:51. With a solid swim foundation and a bike leg that included some standout fast miles, Evans has a clear opportunity to build more consistency across the full bike split to bring her overall time down further.
