Bike Strength Carries a Tougher Day on the Run Taylor Olson completed the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon in 3:28:59, finishing 762nd among men and 51st in the 19-24 age group. This result came in slower than his 2025 Spudman Olympic finish of 3:01:01, marking a step back from last year's pace. The bike leg was Taylor's clear strength this year, averaging roughly 16.2 mph over the course, including a strong mid-ride stretch near 16.8 mph. That bike fitness didn't fully translate to the run, where his pace slowed steadily in the closing miles, dropping well behind his early run splits. Sharpening run endurance and maintaining a more even effort off the bike could help him close the gap between his cycling strength and overall finish time in future races.
