Steady Bike Power Fuels a Hard-Fought Olympic Finish Bryant Cunningham crossed the line at 2026 Spudman in 3:07:36, anchored by a bike leg averaging roughly 18.1 mph. His strongest stretch came between miles 14 and 19, where he surged to a blistering ~3:03/mile pace, climbing from 507th to 181st in his gender group during that segment alone a clear sign of strong power output on the back half of the course. The run settled into a consistent 11:2012:00/mile rhythm, capped by an impressive closing kick at 4:44 pace over the final stretch to the finish. Compared to his four previous Spudman finishes (20222025, all between 2:48 and 2:55), this year's result marks his slowest showing at this race, largely tied to a 29:16 swim split. Tightening swim efficiency could be a key focus for closing that gap next season.
