Consistent Effort Highlighted by a Strong Bike Leg Aiya Leatherberry, 18, of Lehi, UT, completed the 2026 Spudman Sprint Triathlon in 1:53:25, finishing 184th overall and 79th among 570 female competitors, placing 18th in her division. This result is a slight step back from her 2024 Spudman finish of 1:50:30, where she placed 9th in her division, though the competitive field remained similarly sized both years. The bike leg stood out as her strongest segment, covering roughly 12.45 miles at an average of about 15.2 mph a pace that moved her up significantly in the field standings during that portion of the race. Her swim was steady and put her mid-pack early on. The run showed some fatigue late, with pacing slowing in the final miles compared to her earlier splits. Sharpening run endurance could help her close the gap in future events.
