Strong Bike Surge Fuels Six-Year Best Finish Among Elite Men Garrett Faragher turned in a well-rounded Olympic-distance performance, finishing 23rd overall and 6th among Elite Men a major leap from his 2024 result of 87th overall and 23rd in division, despite crossing the line just 33 seconds slower. His swim was a highlight, clocking 17:46 to sit 7th among Elite Men exiting the water, and he carried that momentum into a bike leg where he hit his fastest gear mid-course, covering one 5.6-mile stretch at roughly 22.6 mph before settling into a steady rhythm the rest of the way. The run told a story of two halves: an opening mile at a brisk 6:09/mile pace before easing to 7:20/mile over the final 3.75 miles. Tightening that back-half pacing could help him hold position even later into the run, potentially unlocking a stronger overall placement. Quick work in transition (3:20 and 2:23) also kept him well positioned throughout the race.
