A Strong Start Cools Late in the Bike and Run Ronald opened his 2026 Spudman Sprint with a strong swim, exiting the water in the top third of his division and carrying that momentum into a swift T1. The opening miles of the bike were a clear highlight Ronald moved up to 16th in his 30-39 age group before the second half of the ride, where his position slipped as pace eased through the closing miles into T2. That late fade carried into the run, where a promising start gave way to a slower closing pace, with his overall placement settling in the middle of the field by the finish. Compared to his sharper 2023 (1:46:40) and 2025 (1:58:16) Spudman results, this year's 2:09:54 suggests an opportunity to focus training on sustaining effort through the second half of the bike and into the run.
