A Step Back After Two Strong Seasons Mia Larsen crossed the Spudman Olympic finish line in 4:07:35, a notable shift from her sub-3:10 finishes in 2024 and 2025. Her swim opened things up in 30:22, a solid effort through the current-assisted Snake River leg. The bike proved to be the biggest factor in the day's overall time, taking 2:05:03 to cover just over 24 miles an average of roughly 11.7 mph, a good bit slower than the pace that powered her previous two Spudman bike legs. The run continued that trend, with her per-mile pace drifting from an 11:39 opening mile past mile 26 to splits in the 13-14 minute range by the final few miles. For next season, building bike speed through structured interval work could pay dividends, and practicing steady run pacing in training may help her hold pace deeper into the run leg.
