Steady Progress Pays Off With a Personal Best Ty Larsen turned in his strongest Spudman performance yet, finishing in 2:45:37 nearly 20 minutes faster than his 2025 result and over 30 minutes ahead of his 2022 debut. His bike leg stood out as the highlight, covering the course at roughly 19.2 mph and moving him up to 340th in his gender group by T2, a big leap from his mid-pack swim position. The run showed some fade in the middle miles, with pace settling into the 9:009:30 range after a strong start near 8:34, but he closed with a solid final surge. Larsen also trimmed his transitions significantly compared to prior years. With each Spudman appearance showing measurable gains, continued focus on maintaining run pace over the back half could unlock further time gains next season.
