Fast Start in the Water Sets the Tone for a Determined Olympic Finish Jeremy Oneil opened his Olympic-distance race with a standout swim, exiting the Snake River in 237th place overall and 17th in his 50-54 division a strong showing that put him well ahead of the pack early on. He carried that momentum into the bike leg, holding a steady pace of just over 14 mph across the nearly 25-mile ride, a solid, consistent effort that kept him competitive through the midpoint of the race. The run proved to be the toughest stretch of the day, with pacing slowing considerably compared to the swim and bike efforts. Splits show a gradual decline through the final miles, suggesting fatigue set in over the run course. For future races, building run durability off the bike could help Jeremy hold onto the strong positioning he earned in the water and on the bike all the way to the finish line.
