Strong Bike Leg Powers a Solid Sprint Finish Robert Cardon of Meridian, Idaho, turned in a well-rounded performance at the 2026 Spudman Sprint Triathlon, finishing 126th overall out of 570 participants and 20th in the competitive Mens 20-29 division. His race was defined by a steady swim, a strong bike leg, and a consistent run to the finish. Cardons bike segment stood out as the highlight of his day, where he averaged roughly 15.1 mph, allowing him to move up significantly in the standings during that portion of the race climbing from 176th to 65th in his gender group at one point. Cardon carried that momentum into the run, holding a steady pace in the 8:409:00 minute-per-mile range as he continued to climb the leaderboard, finishing the run in 78th among men. His swim and transitions were solid, if unremarkable, setting up his bike and run for a positive close. For future races, tightening his T1 time could help him carry even more of that early bike energy through to the finish.
