Strong Bike Split Fuels a Steady Olympic-Distance Finish Tyler Gardner completed the Olympic Triathlon in 2:49:54, finishing 311th overall and 46th in the men's 35-39 division. His swim was a highlight, covering the course in 22:14 and landing him inside the top 25% of the field exiting the water. Transitions were crisp, with a 4:22 T1 and an efficient 2:42 T2. The bike leg was the standout of the day averaging roughly 18.5 mph over the course and steadily climbing through the field, moving from 266th to 184th place across the ride. The run began strong with an 8:51 opening mile, but pace gradually eased to the 10:30-10:48 range over the closing miles, suggesting some fatigue after a hard bike effort. Overall, a well-rounded race with excellent swim positioning and a bike leg strong enough to set up a solid finish.
