Bike Strength Powers a Top-100 Olympic Finish Taylor Nordquist crossed the line in 2:33:45, good for 96th overall and 13th in the competitive 35-39 age group among nearly 2,000 finishers at the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon. The bike leg was clearly his strongest segment, averaging close to 19.7 mph over the 24-mile course and earning him a 98th overall splitnearly matching his final finishing position. A steady swim (391st overall) and a quick transition into the bike (T1 ranked 206th) set up that strong cycling performance. Compared to his 2023 Spudman result (2:23:25, 113th overall), Taylor's time slowed slightly this year, but his overall placement actually improved as the field grew from 1,775 to 1,987 participants. His run showed good composure, holding sub-8:30 pace through the midpoint miles before closing with a strong final surge to the finish line.
