Steady Pacing Powers a Season-Best Finish Todd Willey turned in a strong all-around performance at this year's Olympic Triathlon, finishing in 3:22:02 a slight improvement over his previous outing at 3:23:16. His bike leg stood out as a highlight, where he averaged roughly 16.3 mph, a pace that carried him into the top 60 overall at the bike's midpoint before settling into the run. Todd's overall placement also improved, moving up from 1,145th to 909th overall in a deeper field of nearly 2,000 participants. His swim was efficient and set up a strong start to the race. The run proved to be the most demanding segment, with pacing gradually slowing over the final miles. Sharpening run consistency in the back half could help him build on this year's gains and continue the positive trend he's established between these two races.
