A Breakthrough Performance With a Blazing Swim Leg Lisa Willey opened her race with an outstanding swim, finishing 1st overall and 1st among women, covering the current-aided leg in just 2:40. She carried that momentum onto the bike, holding a strong pace of roughly 16.3 mph over the course and sitting inside the top 5 overall through the early bike splits before settling into a steady rhythm for the remainder of the ride. The run brought a bit more of a fade, with her pace settling into the 11-12 minute/mile range over the final miles, but she still crossed the line in 2:53:07 a massive 30-minute improvement over her 2025 Spudman finish of 3:23:17. That kind of across-the-board gain, especially paired with a top swim result, speaks to real progress in both fitness and execution this season.
