Date: July 25, 2026 Participant: Tyler Elison #5074 Race: 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon Event: Olympic Triathlon Weather: Hot, but otherwise a great day for a triathlon.

Steady Swim, Strong Bike Power Fuels Solid Olympic Debut Tyler Elison completed the Olympic distance at Spudman in 2:52:37, highlighted by a bike leg where he averaged roughly 20 mph over the 24.4-mile course a strong showing that moved him into the top 300 overall by T2. His swim was steady, and his transitions were efficient, particularly a swift T1 that kept early momentum going into the bike. The run presented more of a mixed bag: an strong opening mile near 9:24 pace showed good leg turnover off the bike, but the pace settled into the 10:0010:30 range for the remainder of the run. Overall, he finished 34th in the competitive 40-44 age group and 302nd among men. This marks a jump up from his 2025 Spudman Sprint result, and the bike split stands out as the clear strength to build on for future Olympic-distance starts.
