Steady Bike Split Offsets a Slow Second Transition Dave Peterson turned in a solid all-around performance, highlighted by a bike leg that averaged roughly 14.1 mph over the Olympic-distance course. His swim was efficient, moving him up several spots in his gender field before a clean T1. The bike leg held that momentum, though he gradually gave back a few positions to competitors by the dismount line. The most notable stretch came in T2, where a lengthy 16:56 transition slowed his overall rhythm and cost him ground in both his gender and division standings. He recovered some placement during the run, closing strong over the final miles. Finishing in 3:58:00, Dave placed 940th among men and 86th in the Elite Men division a race defined by consistency, with the second transition standing out as the clearest area to tighten up for future events.
