Strong Swim Start Fuels Solid Return to Spudman Cindy Stice opened her Olympic-distance race with a swim leg strong enough to place her 4th in her age division and 53rd among all women, giving her an early foothold in the field. That momentum carried into the bike, where she averaged roughly 16.8 mph across the course, holding a steady position through the middle miles before finishing out the ride. The run showed solid consistency, with pacing mostly in the 8:409:00 per mile range and a strong closing kick over the final stretch. Her overall time of 2:53:18 came in about eleven minutes behind her 2025 Spudman finish, and she placed 7th in the 50-54 division this year after finishing 3rd the year before. The swim result points to continued strength in the water tightening bike pacing in the middle miles could help her close the gap on last year's time.
