Powerful Mid-Race Cycling Surge Fuels a Determined Finish Jaxon opened with a steady swim before settling into a strong bike leg, holding an overall average of roughly 14.8 mph across the course. His standout stretch came between miles 8.8 and 14.4, where he surged to a blistering 16.2 mph pacehis fastest sustained effort of the day and a clear high point in his cycling performance. The run proved tougher, with pace gradually easing into the 1617 minute/mile range over the final miles, contributing to a total time of 3:59:04slower than his 3:11:52 finish at this same race last year. Transitions stayed efficient, each under five minutes. Building targeted run endurance could help him close the gap between his cycling strength and overall finishing time in future races.
