Fast Swim, Early Bike Surge Cools Late Amanda Head exited the Snake River in fine form, landing 35th overall and 3rd in her 30-39 age group among swimmers a statement start. She carried that momentum onto the bike, briefly grabbing the overall division lead at the first checkpoint (1.85 miles), a sign of real early pop on two wheels. That lead didn't hold. By the bike's end, Amanda had settled to 22nd in her division, cycling the 13.17-mile course at roughly 14.6 mph overall. The run settled into a steady rhythm, holding pace in the low 10-minute-mile range through the finish. She crossed the line 132nd overall, 52nd among women, and 17th in her division a race defined by a strong swim and a bike leg that started hot but cooled as the miles ticked by.
