Strong Swim Kicks Off a Gritty Olympic Effort Benjamin Dow of nearby Burley, ID, opened his Olympic-distance race with a standout swim, climbing to 746th overall and 58th in his 25-29 age group by the time he exited the water a clear strength to build on. A crisp transition kept that momentum rolling into the bike leg. On the bike, Benjamin averaged roughly 12.6 mph over the course, with some fluctuation in pace across the ride's middle miles before settling in for the final stretch. The run saw him steadily working through the field, moving from 1302nd to 1097th overall by the finish. He capped off the day with a strong final sprint, covering the last tenth of a mile at an impressive 4:19 pace a great sign of finishing strength to carry into future training blocks.
