Blistering Swim Speed Meets a Gradual Fade Tyler Wright opened his Olympic-distance day with a standout swim, exiting the Snake River 132nd overall and 10th in the 19-24 age group a clear high point of the race. He carried solid momentum onto the bike, averaging close to 16.8 mph across the 24-mile course, though his splits show a steady cooling of pace as the ride progressed, slipping from the mid-pack into the 400s by T2. The run told a similar story: an early mile near 11:18 pace gave way to a tougher middle stretch around 12:29, bottoming out near mile 31 at 15:20 before he rallied for a strong final kick to the line in 3:09:26. Building bike durability and finding a more even run rhythm could help him carry that early swim speed further into the race next time.
