Bike Climb Proves a Bright Spot in a Solid Finish Gayle Ellison completed the 2026 Spudman Sprint Triathlon in 2:31:17, placing 19th in the 50-59 age division and 211th among 570 women. Her bike leg stood out, especially through the climbing middle section, where she moved up to 191st overall and 8th in her divisionher best relative placement of the day. Across the full 12.45-mile ride, she averaged about 10.4 mph, showing solid, consistent power on the rolling Snake River course. Her swim and transition times were steady, but the run proved to be her toughest leg, coming in at a 13:03 pace per mile. Given the strength she showed climbing on the bike, building some run-specific endurance work could help her carry that momentum into the final leg for an even stronger overall finish next time.
