Strong Bike Split Fuels Steady Climb Through the Field Russel Ellison turned in a well-rounded sprint triathlon performance, finishing 183rd overall out of 570 and 23rd in the tough Men's 1-19 division. His bike leg stood out as the highlight, averaging roughly 14.5 mph and steadily climbing the fieldfrom 130th to 116th place among men during the ride. That strength carried into the run, where he moved up from 164th to 105th, showing solid closing speed as his run pace tightened from an 8:11 to a 7:53 min/mile split in the later miles. Ellison's swim (26:42) and transitions (5:00 and 2:03) were serviceable, though his T1 time suggests a possible area to sharpen up heading into future races. Overall, this was a strong sprint outing with clear signs of endurance and pacing discipline, especially given his consistent gains across the bike and run legs.
